Notre Dame Retreats
Do you need some distance and perspective from your everyday life? Some spiritual relaxation, rejuvenation and renewal? Is it time to let go of the past and explore a new, more healthy and satisfying direction? The American HeritageŽ Dictionary of the English Language defines a retreat as — “A period of group withdrawal for prayer, meditation, or study: a religious retreat.” Notre Dame defines a retreat as an experience focused on God and our relationships. Each year our students are required to participate in a school-based one-day retreat. There is a different theme planned for four levels of high school retreats.
Freshmen: The freshmen retreat takes place in September and allows each student a chance to get to know the other in-coming freshmen, enjoy fellowship with each other, learn a thing or two about high school and spend some quality time with God planning our High School path.
Sophomores: The sophomore retreat takes place during October and allows each student to explore their individuality. They will examine their openness to each other and new ideas with the support and strength of God.
Juniors: The Junior retreat takes place during November and allows each student a chance to examine their relationships – their relationships with each other, their parents and with God. Each student will reflect on deepening these bonds and exploring new paths.
Seniors: Amidst the craziness of senior year, when can you find time to process your past four years? The Senior Retreat focuses on three main goals – Reflect on the Past, Enjoy the Present and Envision the Future. This retreat will take place during the forth quarter of senior year.
