African American Club

Moderator: Ms. Boyd

The main purpose of the African American Club is to promote cross-cultural awareness, communication, and fellowship, and to encourage and understanding of the opulence and diversity of African American studies and culture.  Fee:  $5.00


Book Club

Moderator:  Ms. Cleavenger

The Notre Dame Book Club will be reading and relaxing this year!  Join us for an after school gathering of young women who enjoy reading contemporary fiction and getting to know one another outside of the classroom.  We will discuss the latest literature over snacks and sweets at every meeting!  Our first piece is Say You’re One of Them by Uwem Akpan.  Say You’re One of Them is a collection of short stories about children in modern-day Africa and the challenges these young people face.  This is the Oprah Book Club 2009 selection and we will be following and participating in the discussions posted on Oprah’s webpage!  Fee:  $5.00


Cooking Club

Moderator:  Mrs. Heidelbauer

The Cooking Club is an interactive community of students who will cook together as a creative outlet and as a way to grow and enhance friendships. We are a resource for sharing successes, discussing ideas, swapping recipes and offering tips and techniques.  Fee:  $20.00


Euro-Asian Club

Moderator:  Mr. Antosh

The Euro-Asian club will help promote genuine appreciation for the cultures; cuisines and diversity found within the continents of Europe and Asia, build unity between different ethnic/cultural groups, and encourage leadership within the student body.  Members are involved in the annual International Fest and host a service project for the school.  Fee:  $5.00


Future Educators Club

Moderator:  Ms. Raino

The Future Educators’ Club is an association of students, who are interested in careers in education. Guest speakers come and talk to us about their careers and experiences in education, and we also learn what we need to do in order to reach our goals.  Our mission is to serve as an information resource for all prospective educators who are interested in exploring all aspects of the education profession, including counseling, administration, and teaching at all levels from pre-school to university.        Fee:  $5.00


Latino Connections

Moderator:  Ms. Newcomer

In Latina Connections, students can explore and share the distinct Latino cultures through discussion, trips and projects.  It’s an opportunity to explore what unites us as well as celebrate our differences.  Fee:  $5.00


Polish Club

Moderator:  Sr. Genny Potaczala / Sr. Anna Strycharz

There are an estimated 10 million Americans of Polish descent.  The Notre Dame Polish Club will help our students understand and preserve the unique traditions and customs of Polish ancestry.  Members are involved in the annual International Fest and host a service project for the school.  Fee:  $5.00


Robotics / WISE

Moderator:  Mr. Barnum

The purpose of the Robotics/WISE Club is to raise interest and get Notre Dame students involved in different aspects of science and engineering.  We hope to inspire greater research into the field of robotics and aim to make robotics more accessible to persons of all ages and backgrounds.  Fee:  $5.00
